Men’s pelvic health covers many diagnoses you probably don’t talk about with your buddies. Although the anatomy is different, men actually have the same basic musculature. Some of the most common complaints are testicular pain, penile pain, bladder pain or rectal pain. Physical Therapists are part of your healthcare team and can be beneficial for addressing these conditions.
Pelvic Floor Physical therapy has been shown to be beneficial to men undergoing treatment for Prostate Cancer. Whether you have radiation, or a Prostatectomy Pelvic PT can assist in incontinence, pain, and erectile function.
At Core Essentials Physical Therapy our therapists have undergone extensive training in Mens Pelvic Floor and we are committed to providing support, education, and empowerment to restore optimal whole-body performance.

The first session is your evaluation. It will be 60 minutes long and it will cover a lot! You will be in a private treatment space with your Physical Therapist and if you are okay with it your Physical therapy Assistant who is also trained in Pelvic Health. This allows us as a team to get to know you from day one!
At this time we will give you the floor to tell us your story, go over an in depth medical history, and discuss your goals. Following this we will go over an in depth anatomy of the pelvic floor to help you to understand your body and perform a head to toe evaluation. Often times Pelvic Floor Dysfunction requires an internal pelvic exam. Don't Panic! We will discuss the process with you. This is ALWAYS your body and you can say no! An internal assessment allows us to collect the most information, but like we said this is always your body and you are in charge.
